Eminent Ramgarhia Sikh Passes Away At Kenya

MJS Ramgarhia Sikh Welfare Forum pays homage to one of Sikh (Ramgarhia) eminent personalities abroad & prays to Waheguru for the departed soul of S. Harbans Singh Jabbal, KENYA.

Sardar Harbans Singh Amrit, one of Kenya’s most prominent Sikh personalities, leaders and astute businessmen, passes away in Nairobi at the age of 79. Born in Jinja (Uganda), Harbans moved to Kenya to set up his Harbans Singh Associates architects firm and over the decades developed some of the most iconic architectural marvels in Nairobi – including View Park Towers, Eka Hotel, Safaricom House and Skypark, besides establishing himself in the tourist and horticultural industries as well.

Honoured as an ‘Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear’ (EBS) by Kenya’s second President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, Harbans served as Chairman of the Sikh Supreme Council of Kenya for many years, and remained an active member of the community to his last days.
